Seclusion
Casperson Beach shark tooth capital of the world

Your journey starts just 1150 yards from this very secluded beach. Villa Ocala’s greatest asset is it’s location. A quick glance on the map shows that Villa Ocala is on a dead end side street on the very western edge of South Venice. It also borders the northern boundary of Shamrock Nature Park on the Venetian Waterway.

Walk just 100 paces from Villa Ocala’s back yard across a trail to the west thru Shamrock Park and you will be amazed at what you see. The curtain lifts to an enormous big sky view of the Intracoastal Waterway. This canal was built around WWII and offers many different remote adventures to partake in.

Walkers and bikers use the trail on either side for exercise and seclusion. Park benches are found every so often to sit and relax and view the spectacular sunsets. To the south is Shamrock Nature park with trails, tennis and basketball courts and tropical wilderness. Journey to the north and you will find the trail stretches 30 miles all the way to Sarasota thru downtown Venice.

Or bike north a mile, cross the Circus Bridge and ride that mile back south. You can enter Caspersen Beach State Park and stop for a workout in a jungle setting. Then take an amazing bike ride down the deserted Cay trails where the curtain opens again to an even more spectacular scene. The “Shark Tooth Capital of the World”, Caspersen Beach.

Find adventure and seclusion, witness vivid Florida sunsets, or tranquil tropical warm waters just steps from Villa Ocala’s backyard. And it is all free for the taking!
